The Uncommon Business · Framework № 10

The Business Brain

One folder above every department. Any question, any department, any time.

The capstone of AI Architecture.

Part 01 · The Architecture
One brain. Six departments.

A hub above the workspaces, not beside them.

One cloud-synced folder that AI reads, edits, and generates from directly. Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, or iCloud. The department workspaces are tuned specialists. The Brain is the only place that sees everything at once.

"Your Business Brain, think of it as like your executive level team... any question across any department at any time is now available at your fingertips."

Part 02 · The Decision Rule
When to use which

Two homes for every piece of work.

Department Workspace
The output is narrow, repeatable, and voice-specific.
  • Sales emails
  • Campaign copy
  • Call analysis
Business Brain
The decision crosses departments, is ambiguous, or has no clear single owner.
  • A new offer
  • Pricing
  • Hiring
  • Big trajectory calls

"If you're building a brand new offer... there's no clear output... you probably operate on top of the business brain."

Part 03 · Governance Moves
Governance Moves

Three custom instructions turn the folder into an operating system.

1
Team Notification Loop

When a decision affects a team member, the Brain drafts the Slack message or email explaining what changed, why, and what they do differently. It never auto-sends.

"Never send anything without my approval."
2
The Decision Log

Every real decision gets logged automatically. Who made it, what it was, when it happened.

3
Devil's Advocate Check

Before any decision over $1,000, the Brain argues the other side once, using real data from the files.

Part 04 · Feeding Rules
Feeding Rules

What goes in, what stays out.

1
Promote, don't pull

Never sync raw chat history in. When a workspace produces a validated final artifact (a refined ICP, an SOP, a strategy doc), promote that one file into the Brain.

"Your curated source of truth, not a backup of every conversation."
2
Frameworks in, instructions out

Reusable expert frameworks belong in the Brain, like inviting Hormozi into the boardroom for a sales question. Department custom instructions never go in, or the Brain gets an identity crisis.

3
Nested governance

A master instruction file at the root governs the whole Brain. Each department subfolder carries its own.

Part 05 · The Signature Move
The Boardroom Prompt

Every department takes the stand. The disagreements surface before you commit.

Convene all of my departments. Go department by department: state your position, yes or no, and cite the line from your own files that supports it. Show me where the departments disagree with each other. Then give me the recommendation and flag anything ungoverned.

The Principle
Departments execute.
The Brain decides.

A business that answers from one brain moves faster than one that answers from six inboxes.
